"The Traveling Weave" public reception will be held June 27th, 2009 from 6 PM - 9 PM at Box Heart. The Traveling Weave - Mission Statement Who we are: We are a collection of international artists concerned about peace amongst all peoples and a peaceful future for children on the planet. What we do: We exhibit in each other's countries to promote mutual understanding and peace. Why we do it: We do this because we believe art is a universal communication that transcends language, cultural and national differences. How we do it: Because we believe the future is in the hands and hearts of the children, we will donate a portion of artwork sales to an organization within each host country to assist the children of that country develop a multicultural understanding. The reason to believe in us: In an attempt to promote peace and understanding amongst peoples, we have to date, staged four exhibitions in Italy, the United States, and Turkey.
