Beth Taylor
All A Quirk of Art pieces are imagined, created and hand-crafted by Beth Taylor.
In another life, she may have been an archeologist. Taylor was born with a fascination of old things, items with history, items that have passed through countless hands and through generations. In this life, she has taken this fascination and combined it with her passion for jewelry fabrication and making the world a greener place to create sophisticated found-object and recycled jewelry.
You’ll find Taylor's jewelry to be a combination of the old and new, of contrasting textures and colors. Drawn to the power of the written word, she incorporates text into many of her pieces, whether it’s Taylor's own writings or words selected from vintage ephemera. She also has a penchant for the quirky and unusual, and, simply put, Taylor loves to have fun—all traits that she strives to infuse into each and every piece of jewelry she makes.
A metalsmith and jewelry artist for more than 7 years, Taylor's background includes a mix of college-level metalsmithing and art courses, workshops and self-taught methods. She has had the privilege of being instructed by several talented and well-respected jewelry artists including Susan Lenart Kazmer, Tim McCreight, and Chris Darway. Taylor is also a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and the Pennsylvania Society of Goldsmiths.
Taylor creates all her pieces with a sense of meaning infused with beauty, fun and funk. Quirky yet wearable, they’re meant to be coveted, collected and cherished. No matter which piece you choose, Taylor hopes you find it as intriguing, inspiring and gratifying to wear as it was for her to create!
