Cella
Neapolitan
Catherine
Cella Neapolitan is an awarding-winning photographer
who specializes in impressionistic florals and images
of France and the South. She exhibits nationally,
including an annual one-woman show.
Reminiscent of watercolor painting, Neapolitan calles
her medium photographic giclee. Images begin as 35mm
color negatives which are scanned to digital format.
Each then receives individual treatment in Photoshop,
her "darkroom." Finally the image is printed
on fine art paper, titled, signed, and in the case
of larger prints, numbered in limited editions. Her
photographs have won national awards from the likes
of Canon and Kodak.
Neapolitan also makes jewelry with her own fine-art
images. She calles them "Photo-Cameos,"
because they are placed in cameo settings cast from
vintage dies. There are charms, earrings, pins and
pendants. Her jewelry line has expanded to also include
custom designs made from vintage beads and pendants.
In addition to her jewelry line, Neapolitan also creates
notecard sets that reflect the radiance of local landmarks
and landscapes.
Neapolitan is the also owner of misCELLAnea, which
is located in the Market on the Square in Cooksville,
Tennessee.
