John
Winter
Handcrafted lampwork glass beads
and jewelry became Winter's passion after an apprenticeship
with famed glassblower Robert Hamon whetted his appetite
for this most seductive of media. Previously a photographer,
both media have light in common, but this light Winter
can mold. "Glass is magic. Playing with liquid light
at 2000 degrees involves all the senses."
Winter's "Teardrop Earrings" are an instant
classic. First created in the early 90's, the appeal
of the teardrop earring remains universal. Choose
between the sparkle of iridescence (iridized), the
subtle classic color of the glass itself (regular),
or the soft velvet of the etched drops (frost).
