Marina
Montanaro
The
practice of spiritual art unfurls feelings and insigts
of infinite depth. Once one begins to open up the
heart to The Sacred, every line becomes a prayer.
Sacred art has the power to materialize an abstraction,
creating a bridge for the heart to the Inner World,
the mysitcal place where the Divine dwells and manifests
itself. Although the Inner World cannot be fully understood
except by direct experience, hints can be given and
received in the form of symbolic images, which usually,
in Sacred Art, spring from Sacred texts from the teachings
of the Masters.
Marina Montanaro's artistic passion is inspired by
these concepts of the Sufi Movement. In her drawings,
she aims to give material form to a religious international
discussion. For example, the peacock is Montanaro's
favorite symbol to draw. To attempt to capture its
beauty, its context to awaken the Master to his duty,
is a continuous spring of inspiration for Montanaro:
The soul is a dormant master, needing to be awakened
and to understand its duty.
Born in Rome, Italy, in the year 1954, Montanaro moved
to Switzerland in 1980. She makes a living as an interior
architect, giving more and more importance to drawing,
a language by itself, in a country of 7 million people
and four national languages.
