Monica Zacharias

Intuition commands Zacharias' view of the world. By observing the world around her, Zacharias creates an inventory of human needs and aspirations and renders it back in the form of art by means of form and color. Before she begins each work, Zacharias meditates, asking God to let her be the channel of expression for a specific energy that she intuitively found to be needed by the world, or by somebody in that moment.
Then an emotion comes from within. It is born at the very moment she is idealizing and visualizing the work. Zacharias then consecrates her energy into a painting. Any energy can spring forth; peace, happiness, love, prosperity, protection, health, courage. Zacharias is a channel of expression for these divine energies and they are translated through her painting's interaction between form and color. Zacharias hopes that her work instigates the observer to view with attention - Inviting and requiring prolonged thought and feeling.
Simply feeling. Simply being.
Zacharias' intent is to be what God wants her to be at each very moment. By painting in this way, she hopes to recover some of the magic of childhood creating dreamlike uncensored compositions that come from the depths of her soul. Zacharias believes that art is one of the only ways to bring the spirit into form. It is a connection to the spirit. To Zacharias, Art is the Spirit made tangible.
