NILS HANCZAR

Nils Hanczar works in various mediums but concentrates on pen and ink drawings and paintings. He is an amateur photographer and began applying paint to old photos when a friend's daughter emptied several tubes of acrylic paint for a brief art session. He believes that the majority of photographs are taken with the best intentions. However, some photographs are developed to reveal flaws that degrade their appeal. He paints on these pictures.
 
Hanczar grew up in Oakdale, Pennsylvania. He has a BFA from Syracuse University where he studied Film & Media. He currently resides on the NorthSide of Pittsburgh where he works as an illustrator.
