Pat
Buckley is a Pittsburgh native and a graduate of Duquense
University. She did her graduate work in Theater Arts
at the University of Pittsburgh. She has extensive
experience as a stage manager for local theater productions
and has worked on many feature films and television
movies, primarily in the Pittsburgh region but also
throughout the country. Buckley has worked with many
well known film directors, including Norman Jewison,
The Farrelly brothers, Curtis Hanson and Alan Arkish.
Her work in casting earned her an Emmy nomination
in 1999 for the TV film, "The Temptations"
and in 1992 she earned an Emmy nomination for her
work in design for the HBO film "Citizen Cohn."
Pat Buckley is also a talented artist who creates
handcrafted books, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, miniature
memory boxes and polymer clay sculptures. She has
taught at the Society for Contemporary Craft, the
Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, and the City of Pittsburgh
Department of Parks and Recreation. She also teaches
origami, collage and cake decoration.
Buckley is especially skilled at bookbinding and believes
that it is a beautiful and traditional art that we
cannot afford to loose. Bookbinding can be an exciting
and deeply personal art form in which each participant
can express memories, feelings and personal style.
